Beasley, 28, died on Wednesday after falling into the ocean in the city of Beaumont, Texas.
He was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead, according to the Houston Police Department.
Police said he was found in the water by his girlfriend, Brittany DeGuerin.
Authorities said he had no pulse and no breathing.
Beasley was a resident of Beaux Arts, Texas, a small town of roughly 2,000 people that is about 30 miles south of Dallas.
Beaucoup is a former oil-and-gas worker and was working in the fields and mines when he was killed.
The couple’s father said he is in the process of trying to recover some of the money that his son’s family has put into a trust fund.
“We’re just devastated by it,” said Kevin Beasley.
“This was his life.
This was his money.
It’s a blessing to have this.
I just hope that my family will come through this.”
The couple lived together and were married in January.
“Our family is devastated by this terrible tragedy,” said Beasley’s father, Kevin.
“I want my son’s memory to go out to all the people who were involved in the accident, and we want to thank all the men and women of the Texas Rangers and all the investigators and the Texas Department of Public Safety.”
Beasley had been a father figure to the family of his sister, Lauren Beasley and two children, the sheriff’s department said.
He had worked at the Beaux Art and Mining company for eight years and earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from Texas A&M University in 2013.
The sheriff’s office said that the couple’s children were “in good spirits.”
“The family appreciates the outpouring of support, and thank you to everyone who has reached out to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office in their support and prayers,” the sheriff said.
